Rap star Keith Murray who's been on the run from police for over a month has come out of hiding and has turned himself in to law enforcement authorities in Conneticutt. For those aren't aware of Mr Murray's troubles, this premier member of the Def Squad which features Erick Sermon and Redman was sentenced to 3 years in prison after being convicted of assault. Three years ago Murray had an altercation with a night club patron after a show. According to witnesses and the patron Murray hit the guy upside the head with a chair. Now Murray maintains that this was a complete lie and that he was being set up. In a recent interview he stated that his celebrity status made him an easy target for some disgruntled promoters who were upset with the show's outcome. Murray stated that the altercation took place with one of the promoters brother and not Murray.. Unfortunately for Murray he was found guilty and subsequently sentenced.

Murray who was out on bail while his trial was taking place took advantage of things by recording a couple of albums and shooting a large number of videos. This way he would still be a factor in the rap game while behind bars. However, when he was scheduled to turn himself in.. Murray disappeared. Rumors had Murray hiding out in Canada. He caused a bit of a stir when called into a cable talk show the other week. However, when he turned himself in the earlier this week, he noted that he was out handling business. He fired his lawyer, and said his good-byes to family members. Murray stated that he was prepared to take his punishment like a man. Currently he is appealing the sentencing and there is no word as to whether or not he would get additional time for fleeing.
